– This is one of two silk screen print designs I made for the "red light district" show last fall.
– "22x30" – silscreen (two colors) – not sure what the paper is but it's high quality, handmade, acid free, archival quality... I got it at NYA... I think it's german – I only made 8, they're both (supposed to be) for sale over at the SOA online store: [link] Less ambiguous than Oothon, Ompha!e is based on a myth. Hermes sold Hercules as a slave to a lydian"barbarian" queen, Omphale. In this illustration the clothing, ethnicity and sexuality frame a metaphor to American history and social dynamics that play out to this day. Get it? |
