Ma Site! She's Down!
Very inspiring (at least for me and what I want to do with my work).

I felt like destroying something beautiful.

!!!mm!!!
...also, I was very much in love when I did this piece. All of these old GratNin stories are saturated with the love of a man for a woman. It is inherent to the style of these Pratt comics. In fact each was a love letter to a woman in my life at the time. I think this is more a part of the work than anyone else but myself can probably notice. Definitely in the narrative style.
One thing I don't miss about not using brushes and washes is the the constant comparisons to Paul Pope I used to get. I LOVE Paul Pope, He is one of the reasons I got into comics, and it's a great compliment, but I often think it's unwarranted. There are some things I'd definitely do well to thieve from him, but I haven't stolen them yet. Whenever someone compares us (or others) I kinda think that they can't tell the difference between tool and style... "they're the tool, I've got style" Joking... SOmetimes I'm compared to comic artists I never heard of. Anyone who knows me, knows how possible that is. The first time I got compared to Kyle Baker, I didn't know who he was... I thought they meant Clive Barker, hehehe. Style is weird man. I don't give much thought or effort to it. If that answers your question...
Right now I'm redesigning GratNin, and I'm trying to keep them simple for certain reasons. You'll notice in this piece, her costume is totally inconsistent with the comic... I just wanted to paint a woman that I loved, really... as the heroic figure I saw her.
